Project Engineer

Jonathan Sieruta

I believe that the best way to develop as an engineer is to have practical experience with construction and excavation before becoming a designer. As a civil engineer, I have been fortunate to have a diverse professional background, and have worked as a surveyor, construction manager, designer and project manager during my career. My range of work experience includes performing tasks such as building design/construction, site development, cost estimates and budgeting, entitlements, permitting and technical reports related to civil and environmental engineering. My educational experience includes a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering (UMASS Amherst), a master’s degree in sustainable building design and construction (UMASS Amherst), an associate’s degree in renewable energy and energy efficient technology (GCC), as well as having a LEED accreditation
I believe that it is crucial to hire and engineer who is not only up to date with the latest regulations, codes, and technologies available, but to have the practical experience of doing installations as well as designing. I have had experience in the field of engineering for over 15 years, and have worked in the construction industry for over 20 years. Prior to earning my degree, I was involved in the construction and engineering field, gaining several years experience by working for my father as an engineer’s assistant, laborer, and operator, working on a variety of residential and commercial projects. By working for my father, I gained valuable experience in the field before earning my degree, and learned the value of having a practical design approach when designing. He inspired me to work for myself, and now I am the owner and operator of Sieruta Engineering, which is a family owned business which has been now passed down to me. I have had the experience taking on civil projects since I started as engineer, and I am confident that I would be able to provide you with the best possible solution to your unique project. I have learned much by working under the tutelage of my father, William Sieruta, who has been working as a civil engineer for over 40 years. Due to experience with construction and working with William, I have learned to take a practical approach to engineering and to design the economic and efficient designs possible.
